* Shravanthi was born and raised in Bengaluru, India
* On paper, she is a Psychologist and Dramatherapist, and off paper she lives a more exciting and kaleidoscopic life, where she’s a writer, poet, Indian classical dancer, actor, meditation facilitator, activist and feminist
* She specializes in working with the Self, identity, trauma, grief & loss and shame
* She has worked extensively in the field of education in India as a teacher, administrator, psychologist and psychotherapist
* She indulges in writing about mental health, her observations and her own journey with the same
* She has recently started writing children’s stories and poems which she hopes to publish sometime
* She has worked in a range of clinical groups and across a vast age groups both in India and the United Kingdom
* In India she has worked as a psychologist for children with special needs, developmental and learning difficulties, in the areas of assessment, rehabilitation and remediation, while providing counselling and psychoeducation for their respective parents
* She also has experience working in an all males de-addiction centre, a half-way home for people with schizophrenia, outpatient general psychiatric wards for children and adults
* In the UK she has worked in in-patient acute assessment psychiatric wards for geriatric patients with dementia and other psychiatric conditions, in Primary schools and High schools for after-school dramatherapy groups for children experiencing emotional difficulties and as therapist for children and adolescents experiencing grief and bereavement of a parent(s) or/and a sibling(s).
* Earlier to her stint in the UK, she was also a part of two mental health start up initiatives, where she designed and piloted psychoeducational and therapeutic workshops for the general public which also included principles of pranayama, meditation and drama based exercises and techniques to bring about mental health awareness and healing.
* During 2020 she kicked off two initiatives, one on mediation and stories and the other around awareness & holistic education for menstrual and reproductive health.
* Presently, she has launched her private practice Svāhā Space, while also trying to introduce dramatherapy as a pan-effective intervention for healing and wellbeing.
* Recently, she successfully conducted her workshop on Self-discovery, ‘Who Am I? Who I am…’ which was based on the findings of her practice-based research while in the UK
